"The Help"

a beautiful display of artwork. . . .

I found this old window in someones trash a few weeks ago.  It sat in the corner of my dining room, until yesterday.  Last week my kids made two beautiful pieces of art, I had them standing on the fireplace until yesterday, when I got an epiphany (I get those every now and then)!  I grabbed the glass-less window, strung a wire in it, snipped the ends off two long clothes pins, clipped my kids artwork inside the frame, and hung it on the wall!

I love it and so do they!

Friday

a "must" read. . .

Just finished this book, yesterday.  This is the second book I've read by author, Donald Miller.  Here are a few quotes I took note of:

"if we are not willing to wake-up in the morning and die to ourselves, perhaps we should ask ourselves whether or not we are really following Jesus"

When you go to meet someone, pray that God will help you feel His love for them.  Ask God to make it so both conversations, the one from the mouth and the one from the heart, are true."

These are just a few of the quotes I gleaned from this book!  If you haven't read it yet, take a day and "do it"! you won't be disappointed!

Monday

oh so easy . . . .

I used to get frustrated putting on my mascara only to have it clump on my eyelashes, then I figured out a simple fix to this problem.  Place your closed tube of mascara in a cup of hot water, or a sink of hot water.  The water warms the mascara and allows for easy gliding onto the eye lashes; using less, looking more natural, without clumps! Try it! I think you will agree!

"sand free living"

I love the beach; the sun, the surf and the sand, but I don't enjoy bringing the sand home with me.  An easy remedy to riding yourself of beach sand is:  Baby Powder.  Slip a bottle of baby powder into your beach bag, when your ready to head home sprinkle it onto your skin, your clothes, and even your shoes; the sand will simply slide off.

Thursday

a belated "Welcome"

I decided to start this blog in hopes of offering great ideas, tips and helpful hints to encourage, uplift and assist your journey through life, as a wife and mom.  Our lives aren't always "perfect" and it's in those moments of imperfection that can either make or break us; we can choose to be bitter or be better!  My hope is that, as you peruse this blog, you will gain insight, wisdom, and encouragement to keep you stepping "His way" each day.  I overheard a friend of mine, back when we lived in Colorado, say to another friend, "enjoy your day. . . .every minute of it!"  I'm learning to enjoy life, "every minute of it" are you?
